On what is wrong with the current state of business.
People are groomed to spend a large portion of their time and brain power on "how to get ahead of the other guy". Groomed to create ideas that are unique, then patented in hopes of a large payoff for themselves and their families. These people then pat themselves on the back and feel deserving of the wealth they've accumulated because of their "good ideas" and hard work and dedication to figuring something new. They are then always feeling entitled to the lifestyle they then live. I don't write this idea to critisize but want to talk about how this idea may have been good when we were a hunter gatherer society but it is no longer helping the greater human race. The share moon ideal revolves around the idea that we can live in a life where bare neccessatiy is a universal given and then we can focus our energies on truly discovering what our true passions our. I believe when we focus our individual energies on what we are truly passionate about with true freedom only then can we create the best lifestyles, goods, and philosophies for our society.
Somehow incorporate the idea of the "talking stick" into the platform as a mechanism for all people on the platform to have a fair chance to be heard.
On system usage to avoid usage obsession and brain take-over like current social technologies:
After much thinking about how to avoid peoples addiction to the platform I am for the first time proposing these possible rules:
1. Users may only post a limited amount of content daily/weekly unless it is for whatever reason labeled as urgent.
Urgency could be first and foremost be a personal emotional cry for help and support.
2. The system should not be used for trivial day to day activity.
3. Regurgitation of re-hashed language is ideally avoided whenever possible. The system is to aid in the development of an individuals voice and honesty.
4. All of these rules may be a bit too harsh but in separating myself from the current social platforms I feel
5. Any information labeled under unique practical knowledge can be uploaded at any time.
6. In traditional social networks, users are rewarded when they are more active on the network. More exposure is given to those who regularly post and have a high chance of adding "Marketing Value" to the system. The sharemoon system would function completely opposite. If you don't post often, one single post will reach a large audience, if you post often, your post will not be seen by many people other than those actively following your activities.
On businesses supported purely by the distribution of information/data/knowledge:
Although these types of businesses need support I am a believer in free information especially when it could be life saving. My view of the future revolves around a personal recognition of the value of information that effects you and those around you, with a social mentality to support with what you can. A system that creates pragmatic proof of the intrinsic value of information, without this kind of access to data, data will continue to be a mechanism to monetize us and create walls between each other.
Initial philosophy blurb from the subverse.info site:
I believe that the technologies that have the possibility to connect us are mostly doing so to monetize us. In focusing on monetizing us little to no effort has been put into connecting us so we can function as a healthy social organism. Disruptive internet based services like Uber and Airbnb are in some ways breaking traditional boundaries to more fluidly connect us, not to say they're not unwanted side-effects. helping us work together as a species but ultimately for the sake of the existing capitalist ideals: putting money in stock holders hands and creating value out of marketed popularity. ShareMoon is a non-profit Authentication platform that hopes to put these types of social/economic systems to use at the lowest cost possible. In order to start connecting without boundaries we first need a global, de-centralized, and extremely secure authentication platform. With genuine authentication people will be able to share their lives safely.
