room, especially with the low A. Quick research shows

that A resonates at 55, 110, 220, 440. Implement this

information into equing the next show. Other notes on

the Joe's gig, put up flyers before the next show. How

much is an expression pedal for the RC-600. Pedal

ordered... Okay lets try not to get lost in pedal land

jgood morning world. i want to write a song about

someone and something that has nothing to do with

me aside from my own imagination

i also need to keep my ideas more organized so i

can pick up where i left off on some older ideas

however today is a day for new idea so lets continue

she lives in a town covered in salt

they're always washing and painting and fighting

natures never ending cycles, the people of the town

see these cycles as a battle, their manifest idea of

their superiority continually keeps them in a state

of offense or defense. keeping the white washed walls

on an ocean bluff like a sword over your head.

the water goes on forever in her mind, in an age of

horse and buggy one doesn't travel too far with

meager ends. she fell in love once before to a young

upstart seaman but the ocean took him after he

asked her to marry him. all she has left of him is

a stack of letters and an empty grave and a single

blurry picture taken when he first joined the whaling

team. the ocean that took her love is her only comfort

she feels. her house is run down and not a very nice

one, still living with her mum and her father has

passed as well. shes fortunate though that she can

see a sliver over the ocean out of her window.

she works in the cannery, curious that the smells

pulled from the deep clear ocean can be so vile

she fortunate to stay warm near the boiler in the

winter cold, threatening to snow but it also makes

her uneasy as the preasure bells ring asking for

assistance. when the summer comes she chooses not to

go to work for a day shucking responsibility. she

knows of a secret cove where her love once took her

not far from the heart of town. she sheds her clothes

stench and swims free

mind dump.

so many things going on right now, the ball feels to

be rolling well in the creative flow, the new space

upstairs has given me a lot less stress in how i

use the time I have and it has been helping me build

on what I am trying to do more effortlessly, not having

to feel the stress of having to break everything down

and set back up every day.

blah blah blah blah, what trite dribble... so where

the fuck next? what the hell? who the fuck? when

what, how, now, cow, brown? shit common... lets be

real and get the things out on the table so we can

move forward already. okay. so you can put your

negative feelings on someone else, its so easy to

Last year at this time my goal was to have a gig a week and I was doing anything I can to make that happen. And now, well now I am offered a gig and I can't take it because it's not economically viable. All of my marketing emails have recently focused around a duo act with Keith and me but I think I need to start revolving on using myself and the main point for marketing and just add featured musicians here and there.

I remember feeling not long ago, maybe 3 months ago, really deeply feeling how lucky I am to pursue this music thing with my kids and while being a father. I was so deeply thankful for a few days thinking about how lucky I am to have this chance. And now I just spent the last 5 days mulling over a rejection from a brewery that was only going to pay me $75. I had asked to get $200 in pay but they told me they pay $50 per band member up to 3 members and $75 solo. I requested to play solo because I knew I couldn't and wouldn't want to get my bass player to play for $50 at which point they stopped emailing me. It's really depressing that the money is so poor and its really depressing that I have to spend my time thinking about how I might print pictures and frame them nicely and how I am going to get my online content more engagement and how I'm going to make a few more bucks. Through all of this I'm wondering, really wondering, what I have to offer and in the midst of this shit how do I actually make something new that's worth listening to. Because I think that's what I do, I make things that people listen to, unfortunately these days people don't actually use their ears without first using their eyes, their eyes that tell them numbers of value, numbers of others, numbers for those who care. Perhaps its how these numbers are presented that are the biggest danger to free thinking.

After spending a fair amount of time using social media as a means to an end for getting myself out there and getting traction for publicity and getting gigs I am feeling that I need to radically change the way I interact with social media and radically change how, when, and why I publish content.

It is not healthy for me to be a keep up with the joneses kind of social media persona, I am simply too sensitive on the opinions and desperate need for validation from my peers. Just as much as there is a stress about how people view my creative output there is also a addiction to gathering data to understand what people want, who wants it, and how to progress to make better things that more people want.

Knowing that these issues exist, how do I market myself without spending so much time fretting about others and the information gleamed from them from the barfo-sphere. Where do I publish my content, how do people see what I'm doing.

Do I need to develop an online presence?

What does an anti-online presence look like? Is that something that has a place online?

My motor functions all itch to press the worn trails that bring me to advertisements and the content of other peoples lives? Why do I need to spend my free time looking at the filtered and fake content of someone else's life. Someones hyper life.

The life worth sharing in an authentic one, the life I want to share is an authentic one. One that takes the good and the bad and presents them fairly.

Can I create a twitch channel where I simply document my life whenever and however possible when I am working? Should I? Probably Not.

It seems a journal should not be something to agonize over, it should flow like water from you hands. It is an interesting conundrum to write such a thing for all the world to see (but probably not anytime soon) without feeling like I should censor myself. I really don't want to censor myself, I want to lay it down for anyone but mostly for myself.

It's been a hard few weeks finding my way.

I have had plenty of lovely time with the children and we went on some magical adventures to the snow. I love waking with the kids and leaning into their excitement in a new place. Eager to adventure and see what the new universe the car has brought them to has to offer. We woke up on the 16th floor, Kai was not excited about such heights but he was brave and gritted through every elevator ride. The kids were up at sunrise enjoying the view of the lake and were ready to get into the snow. Finding our way past the lingerie shop that stood across from the children's game center we found a pile of snow that had been pushed up by the plows, it was, big and dangerous and had steeps drops onto asphalt on both sides. After we got that initial excitement out, we headed to the car to pickup Kais found sled tools: a ski attached to a piece of treated 2x6 and a broken surfboard piece. We also grabbed hand shovels and an extra large shovel. We found our way to the back of the resort and setup shop at the corner of a grove that appeared to be shaded and had the deepest snow pack. I set to work digging the deepest hole I could while the kids slid around and created forts amongst other general exploration. We snacked until we had no energy left and walked to the california side and had a nice well deserved breakfast.

I have been able to have so much magical time with my children, this really is the focus of my life right now. It won't be long before they will be deep into their focus on developing their teenage-selves and to be honest I would be surprised that I won't play a big part of that but that could be completely naive of me. The real goal of my life is family, but how do I make a livelihood of family, thats the struggle of finding my way.

Gigs gigs gigs, who gives a shit about my gigs? How do I engage an audience to give a shit about my gigs. How do I engage a world to support me when people don't know who I am, care about what I do, or feel compelled to listen to what I have to share. Is creating music, playing, music, or creating art a realistic path towards my goal of a creative life style? Social media slut? Online BS?

All this work seems to lead to an endless list of questions for me, creeping along to find my way. I think I have laid the groundwork to express something new and to take another leap of faith and lean into sharing myself more deeply. What does that look like and where will I share this person?

I have been pursuing music as a potential means to feed myself for roughly one year now and at this stage it seems very difficult to figure out how it is possible to make it a sustainable livelihood. I am not the kind of person who likes to whore himself out or do something kitchy or neat like a trained animal, I don't find joy in scratching peoples short attention spans. My pursuit is to deepen my connection with others and not fill some dopamine button for them. Perhaps doing so may open a door to seeing something or is a stepping stone to some path that leads to a deeper connection, but its so easy for me to get lost in those paths.

Sharpening the blade of my intention feels like the direction I need to be headed. I feel like I am floundering because I don't see a path. If I am to thrive in this work I need to make the path with a ever-evolving expression of who I am. I feel like I am just starting to scratch the surface of this. All I want to do is have the space to create and help others create. A desperate hope to be accepted for being my true self and a earnest heart to connect with others, for the sake of connection, a connection that reminds me of the joy of being human.

Where does this take me?

Well, you need to make a QR code, perhaps have some merch to sell, and maybe, just maybe figure out how to make a bit more money at each gig. But perhaps this is not the way, and there is a way to earnestly make monies online??? Hmm...?

Good morning sleepy head, here is your life and its happening right now, nothing before or after aside from the wheels you have started that might come back to roll you over by societies game.

I come here to write but it's out in the open where no one will read any time soon but it is still somewhat terrifying because it isn't kept to me. There are things that I want to write that I don't feel I can here, but maybe I should.

Thanks to an Alan Watts lecture I have recently started thinking about the world less as something to be controlled but more something to move through whilst resonating my unique self. I have big ideas and they seem vital and crucial to me, I'm also convinced that seeing some of these idea into fruition could have a major positive impact to the universe. But I'm starting to let go of the conviction of "Right Mindedness".

There are two new songs that I want to start working on:

#1 - Clouds

#2 - Catch and Release (Catching things is a part of human life, we cannot exist without doing so, however in the midst of this social media age, its so easy to completely lose awareness of life around you and start becoming obsessed with catching it as to grow your digital social value. I am continually dealing with this as an artist in the age, I love to capture images, emotions, and moments. And I also feel the nasty residual effects of the disease of capture vs experience... The idea of capture is part of the art lifestyle but in my life it needs to be nurtured with a path to release as fast as its healthy for me.
